Bring a blanket and escape to the movies under the stars this Summer! Oscars Outdoors is a summer screening series at the Academy's new open-air theater, located on the Academy Hollywood campus. Movies will be screened on a permanent 40ft x 20ft screen in the 10,000 square-foot plaza. Be sure to dress warmly, and bring a blanket or low lawn chair for your prime viewing spot on the lawn. Picnic baskets, beer, and wine permitted. Hooray booze! No pets. (Service dogs allowed.)
Food Trucks provided by Roaming Hunger. Trucks will vary each night and will be tailored to the movie showing whenever possible. Food trucks tonight include: Trailer Park Truck, King Kone, Gravy Train Pouterine, Brasil Kiss
Tickets are $5 general admission, $3 students and Academy members. Buy your tickets online here (no service charges! hooray!) Gates open at 6:30pm. Screenings begin at sunset (around 8pm).
Screenings may sell out. A standby line will form on the day of the event, and standby numbers will be distributed at 6pm; available tickets will be sold at approximately 7:45pm. Ticketholders should plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the event to ensure a seat at the venue. Please note: Standby line patrons should utilize street parking (please read the signs) or the nearby city parking garages.
Advance ticket holders also gain access to FREE PARKING in the Academy's free parking lot on Homewood Avenue. Enter from Homewood Avenue (turn west off Vine Street).
