Twilight Hikes @ Stoner Park

Tony & Heidi of the Gateway Portal invite you to step into Twilight Hiking bliss with them:

Who & What: We are the "Twilight Hikers" and we are delighted you have found us, or vice-versa. We have been around for over 3 decades. Come rain or shine (with exceptions); full, half or no moon, we hike.

When: We meet every Friday Night at 6:45pmin the parking lot of Stoner Recreation Center, which is on the South side of the park facing Missouri. Then we carpool to the nominated trailhead by just before 7pm. The hikes are generally about 4.5 to 5 miles and take a total of 2 hours. We are usually back in the parking lot of Stoner Recreation Center by about 9:30pm. To wrap it up, some of us go out to eat at the pick of the majority. As assumable, it does get dark, but we pick trails more lit by the glow of the city or the moon but it does help to be aware of this ahead of time and prepare you to be comfortable in such a setting. Some bring flashlights, but we encourage to keep that to a minimum as the enjoyment of this group comes in large part letting our eyes adjust and enjoying nature in the evening hours. It makes an awesome Friday night, we are there every Friday.

Why: Ah yes, and why. Why? In part because this is a venue we each in our own way, have come to experience a sense of gratitude for the opportunity that life is.
